Here&#8217;s what I had on my nightstand <a href=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/blog\/2009\/20091222-1060.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> last month.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"On my nightstand\" src=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/images\/20091222-1.jpg\" title=\"On my nightstand\" class=\"alignnone\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>What I actually read was:<\/b><br \/>\n(Links lead to my reviews of the book, never to a site selling you something.)<\/p>\n<p><u>Fiction<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"books\/hake_c_m-fancypants.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Fancy Pants<\/i><\/a> by Cathy Marie Hake<\/li>\n<li><u><i>The Good Nearby<\/i><\/u> by Nancy Moser<br \/>\nThis one didn&#8217;t grab me as much as I had hoped&#8211;but I think it might have had more to do with my (rather odd) moods of late than with the book itself.<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Little Lady, Big Apple<\/i><\/u> by Hester Browne<br \/>\nEntertaining, not quite as enjoyable as the first book, but better than most chick-lit sequels&#8211;main character Melissa doesn&#8217;t really PROgress as a character, but at least she doesn&#8217;t REgress like many chick lit sequel characters do.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"books\/tolstoy_l-resurrection.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Resurrection<\/i><\/a> by Leo Tolstoy<\/li>\n<li><u><i>When Breaks the Dawn<\/i><\/u> by Janette Oke<\/li>\n<li><u><i>When Hope Springs New<\/i><\/u> by Janette Oke<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Nonfiction<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u><i>Boy Meets Girl<\/i><\/u> by Josh Harris<br \/>\nI&#8217;m holding off on reviewing this one until &#8220;Love Month&#8221; in February.<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Dave Barry&#8217;s History of the Millennium<\/i><\/u> by Dave Barry<br \/>\nAmusing, a little too political to be completely enjoyable (by which I mean he makes fun of MY pet topics a bit too much!)<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Don&#8217;t You Dare Get Married Until You Read This<\/i><\/u> by Corey Donaldson<br \/>\nA collection of thought-provoking questions to get couple to think about the serious issues in their relationship.  Some questions are absolute duds, but most of them aren&#8217;t bad at all.<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Finding Answers in U.S. Census Records<\/i><\/u> by Loretto Dennis Szucs &#038; Matthew Wright<br \/>\nI just noticed the author&#8217;s unfortunate last name.  Suppose it&#8217;s pronounced &#8220;sucks&#8221;?<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Healthcare Online for Dummies<\/i><\/u> <br \/>\nNot in print any longer.  I wonder why?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/books\/rodgers_b-findmrormsright.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>How to Find Mr. of Ms. Right<\/i><\/a> by Beverly and Tom Rodgers<\/li>\n<li><u><i>An Idiot Girl&#8217;s Christmas<\/i><\/u> by Laurie Notaro<br \/>\nFunny, interesting, a quick read.  Low levels of &#8220;naughty&#8221; humour.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/books\/swindoll_l-imarriedadventure.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>I Married Adventure<\/i><\/a> by Luci Swindoll<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/books\/dobson_l-morethanthepastorswife.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>I&#8217;m More than the Pastor&#8217;s Wife<\/i><\/a> by Lorna Dobson<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/books\/smith_g-lordssupper.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>The Lord&#8217;s Supper: Five Views<\/i><\/a> edited by Gordon T. Levine should stick to fairy tale adaptations.  This Peter Pan spin off was boring, IMHO.<\/li>\n<li><u><i>Listening for Lions<\/i><\/u><\/u> by Gloria Whelan<br \/>\nI put this on my TBR list after reading a review by <a href=\"http:\/\/hopeistheword.wordpress.com\/2009\/04\/29\/book-review-listening-for-lions-by-gloria-whelan\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amy @ Hope is the Word<\/a>.  I wasn&#8217;t disappointed.
