Even more, I haven&#8217;t been <i>finishing books<\/i> this month. I still have at least a half dozen in progress.<\/p>\n<p><b>This month, I read:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Wonder<\/em> by R.J. Palacio<\/strong><br \/>\nThe story of a 5th Grade boy with craniofacial abnormalities due to a rare genetic disorder. August goes to school for the first time and learns that middle schoolers can be cruel and kind and awful and awesome. Or something like that. I wasn&#8217;t a huge fan. Read my <a href=\"blog\/2014\/20140224-12190.htm\">full review here<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Rose Under Fire<\/em> by Elizabeth Wein<\/strong><br \/>\nFirst, she witnesses a plane going down. A fellow air transport auxillary pilot made a heroic attempt and failed. Then she makes her own heroic attempt, and she goes down&#8211;escorted into Germany where she ends up in Ravensbruck, a witness to horrific events. This is undoubtedly the best book I&#8217;ve read so far this year&#8211;and likely one of the best I&#8217;ll read all year. If I haven&#8217;t already convinced you to read it, check out <a href=\"blog\/2014\/20140214-12160.htm\">my full review<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Little House on the Prairie<\/em> by Laura Ingalls Wilder<\/strong><br \/>\nI re-read this for Barbara&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/barbarah.wordpress.com\/2014\/01\/02\/the-laura-ingalls-wilder-reading-challenge-2014\/\">Laura Ingalls Wilder Reading Challenge<\/a> and in conjunction with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readingtoknow.com\/2013\/12\/reading-to-know-classic-book-club-2014.html\">Reading to Know Classic Book Club<\/a>&#8211;and found my experience reading it very different this time.
