<\/p>\nOne of my bookish goals this year was to check out a book from the “Holiday” section at our library for each holiday of the year. <\/p>\n
Holiday #1 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. <\/p>\n
The kids and I read four books about Martin Luther King, Jr. – and I learned just how very little I knew about the civil rights movement.<\/p>\n
I’ll fix that further as time goes by.<\/p>\n
For now, we’re rejoicing in the gains the civil rights movement has made – and praying for an end to the continued malice and distrust between races.<\/p>\n
Because we agree with Dr. King’s dream.<\/p>\n
It is our dream too.<\/p>\n
