{"id":3468,"date":"2010-07-10T11:48:21","date_gmt":"2010-07-10T16:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/blog\/?p=3468"},"modified":"2010-07-10T11:48:21","modified_gmt":"2010-07-10T16:48:21","slug":"thankful-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/blog\/2010\/20100710-3468.htm","title":{"rendered":"Thankful Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because sometimes Thursday isn&#8217;t the only day I need to ward off covetousness.<\/p>\n<p>I am twenty-five and not a homeowner as I wanted to be&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;but I am thankful that I can rent a home I like and share it with a friend.<\/p>\n<p>I am twenty-five and unmarried, childless&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;but I am thankful for the many who lend me their children on Sunday mornings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20100710-1.jpg\" alt=\"Child from nursery\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20100710-2.jpg\" alt=\"Child from nursery\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I am twenty-five and still a student, still in limbo, still waiting for real life to start&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;but I am thankful that my thesis seems to be coming together at last.<\/p>\n<p>I am twenty-five and I still have not taken that bike ride that I have been talking about taking for years&#8230;<br \/>\n&#8230;but I am thankful for the small rides I get to enjoy with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20100710-3.jpg\" alt=\"Tim and Kayla on bicycles\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20100710-4.jpg\" alt=\"Tim and John on bicycles\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20100710-5.jpg\" alt=\"Mom and Anna and Joanna on bicycles\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My life has not turned out as I expected it to.  I see my friends attaining to <i>my<\/i> dreams, and envy rises strong within my soul.  Why do they get houses and husbands and children when I do not?<\/p>\n<p>Because God, in His sovereign and good plan, has decreed that my life should look different than the course I plotted for it.  <\/p>\n<p>And I am thankful that He knows better than I how to arrange my life for my good and for His glory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Because sometimes Thursday isn&#8217;t the only day I need to ward off covetousness.
