Some days, melancholy wakes you up in the morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other days you see it coming down the road and, though you try to avoid it, it catches up to you anyway.<\/p>\n

And then some days it just whallomphs you out of the blue for no apparent reason.<\/p>\n

Why is contentment such an elusive thing?<\/strong><\/p>\n

What sets off that inner longing after a quiet, peaceful holiday of contentment?<\/p>\n

I don’t know.<\/p>\n

But it comes and goes, with no apparent rhyme or reason.<\/p>\n

I’m just fine, and then suddenly I’m crying in my bathtub at night because I just want so badly.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m tempted to wallow in a little pity party. To complain about the situations God has placed me in. I’m tempted to cry for all the dreams that haven’t been fulfilled, for all the longings unmet.<\/p>\n

But if there’s anything that I’ve been learning this year so far, it’s that I need to turn my eyes to Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n
