{"id":8097,"date":"2011-10-19T07:06:20","date_gmt":"2011-10-19T12:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/blog\/?p=8097"},"modified":"2011-10-19T07:06:20","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T12:06:20","slug":"because-i-can","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bekahcubed.menterz.com\/blog\/2011\/20111019-8097.htm","title":{"rendered":"Because I can"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been seven years since I could play (due to my brother being an employee). <\/p>\n<p>And before seven years ago, I went to McDonalds approximately once a year (on a church sponsored youth trip).<\/p>\n<p>So now, for the first time in my life, I am playing MONOPOLY.<\/p>\n<p>You know, the artery-clogging, pocket-emptying exercise in futility that allows McDonalds to rake in the big bucks every fall?<\/p>\n<p>Yep, that Monopoly.<\/p>\n<p>See?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"images\/20111018-09.jpg\" alt=\"McDonalds Monopoly\" height=\"300\" width=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I told you so.<\/p>\n<p>So far, I have won several orders of medium fries, a breakfast sandwich, 20 Snapfish prints, and some MyCoke Rewards points (whatever those are.)<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still holding out for one of the biggies.<\/p>\n<p>Anybody want to share? I&#8217;m looking for&#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Green: Pennsylvania Avenue (I&#8217;ll give you Luci if I win a Nissan Leaf)<\/li>\n<li>Yellow: Ventnor Avenue (I could spare you a bit of that $100,000&#8211;half after taxes?)<\/li>\n<li>Red: Kentucky Avenue (ditto the above, only this time for $50,000)<\/li>\n<li>Orange: Tennessee Avenue (Family vacation? Of course you&#8217;re family!)<\/li>\n<li>Pink: Virginia Avenue (Surely $200 at a Spa can get two&#8230;er&#8230;manicures?)<\/li>\n<li>Light Blue: Vermont Avenue ($100 isn&#8217;t much, but I&#8217;ll still share)<\/li>\n<li>Brown: Mediterranean Avenue ($50 is even less, but even that can buy us each a coupla dozen large drinks!)<\/li>\n<li>Railroad: Short Line (Don&#8217;t know what I&#8217;d want with an EA Sports trip, but I&#8217;d be willing to sell and share the proceeds?)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, if you were really smart and had any of the above, you&#8217;d run over to Walmart and buy $1 medium drinks until you had the rest. What I&#8217;ve got is a dime a dozen.<\/p>\n<p>So why am I playing again?<\/p>\n<p>Oh yes.<\/p>\n<p>Because I can.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>***<i>Disclaimer: Professional dietitian on closed commute.
