Does anybody else feel like my blog has been a little bit “thinking heavy” in the last couple of weeks?
I’ve been rushing though Why We Love the Church trying to get it done before it has to go back to the library (on Interlibrary Loan)–and it seems like all I’ve been doing is writing book notes. Problem is, I still have all sorts of book notes in my (paper) notebook that I want to put up at some point.
I could just take the plunge and devote myself to the “thinking blogger” genre. But I don’t think I really want to do that. I like the wanna-be-mommy-blogger and bookie-blogger genres too much to let go of them entirely.
Alas, when a simple hobby begins to take such crisis of identity proportions.
As I send my words out into the void, somebody please affirm me (because really that’s what I want :-P) Tell me what you like me to write about. Tell me what you don’t like me to write about. Just tell me something. ‘Cause I’m tired of thinking and just want some nice inane chatter.
I have noticed that your blog tends to be “think heavy”..but I think I just thought that you prefer deeper topics considering I haven’t been reading your blog for long.
I enjoy reading what you write, but I agree that a hobby can become exhausting when it always requires such brain power and probing. For example, even though I prefer reading books that are intellectual and full of social and theological theory, sometimes I can appreciate the occasional “fluff.” I don’t think fluff has to be frivolous or scoffed at. Sometimes lighter posts can make bloggers more relatable to a wider audience base.
I want to hear more about hot grocery guys! LOL! :) jk.
Sorry I don’t comment much; I’m trying to stay off the computer.
I, too, have noticed the multiple posts that are “think-heavy” and notes on that book you are going through.
I like to read the blogs that update me on YOU. What your day was like, what your walk with God is like, the funny things that happened… You know – the kind of stuff we used to TALK about, back when we saw each other. ;-)
Thanks, ladies, for the comments. They’ve been JUST what I needed.
I’m definitely moving towards the “thinking” side–mostly because that’s a lot of what I’ve been doing lately. My days have been thinking, my walk with God has been reengaging my brain in worship, etc.
But I’m ready to lighten up a bit now that I’ve taken that book back to the library–hopefully I can have a bit more balance over the next few weeks!
As to hot grocery guys–I haven’t noticed any hot guys lately. Kind of a bummer, I know. But if I see one, I’ll definitely be letting you know, Becky! And I understand (and admire) your desire to spend less time online.
Just want to make myself clear on this ~ I don’t want to hear about hot grocery guys for my benefit – only for your’s. :)
I have my own sexy farm boy to share my life with. :)
